I just love the Christmas story THE GIFT OF THE MAGI by O'Henry. Have your read it? Christmas is all about love and this story is just the best illustration of what real love means. Now run to the library and get it and I mean run. There will be a tear in your eye when you do.
I love this Christmas list which George Washington himself prepared of presents he planned to give to his children on Christmas day, 1759.
A BIRD ON BELLOWS, A CUCKOO, A TURNABOUT PARROT, A GROCERS SHOP, AN AVIARY, A PRUSSIAN DRAGON, A MAN SMOAKG, A TURNBRIDGE TEA SETT, 3 NEAT TURNBRIDGE TOYS, A NEAT BOOK FASH TEA CHEST, A BOX BEST HOUSEHOLD STUFF, A STRAW PATCH BOX WITH A GLASS, A NEAT DRESSED WAX BABY.
I love being an American. I love to see the flag raised and everyone placing their hand over their heart. OOh it still gives me chills at my age.
I love when my grandson stands at the bottom of the stairs and calls to me upstairs and says, "GRANDMA DO YOU WANT TO COME DOWN AND PLAY WITH ME?"
I love it when my grandaughter calls me GRANDMAMA and almost sings it when she says it.
I love my friend Cheryl...who is truly a gift from God.
I love my children. They are a great gift from God as well. No doubt the best gift I will ever get.
I love it when Casey (my husband) brings me a candy bar in the middle of the afternoon for no reason at all. I love him with all my heart.
I love my cat Tom and he adores me. It makes Casey a bit jealous because Tom truly loves me best and if you have a cat you know how devoted they can be. My littlest grandchild, Anna, who is only two, was riding in the car after being at our house and she said quite BOLDLY AND LOUDLY...."I LOVE TOM CAT." Me, too, Anna...Me, too.
I love a crisp winter day and the sound my boots make on the snow - sort of a squeak or crunch....OOOOh you know what I mean, girls. It is a wonderful sound.
I love May and all the spring flowers. It is always a new beginning to me.
Write and tell me what you love. I love hearing from you and you know
I will keep it just between us girls.
I am off for a nap...now that sounds like a marvellous idea!!!!! I love it!

I love your list! I have a few similarities...
-my husband (of 26+yrs) also brings a candy bar as a surprise "just because"...I love that!
-our grandson calls my husband "papa" with such a sweet innocence, I hope he never grows out of that! but the word he calls me, "maahrhrh" needs a little work...but I love that anyway!
-I love the story of Jesus birth
-I love living in Oregon
and I have more, but ran out of time and space!
OH, Pat! You are just the sweetest person in the world and you have made my day making me part of your list of things you love! Makes me a bit teary...
Things I love...
I love...when my littlest child, Andrew, who just learned to walk, hears his Daddy come in the front door, and toddles off as fast as he can go on his unsteady little "stumps" to get his hugs and kisses!
I love...spooning with my husband under a down comforter in those minutes before sleep comes and knowing morning is HOURS away.
I love...that I have a brand new house that is just HUGE (to me!) that is OURS and that we get to move into on THURSDAY!
I love...sitting down at the computer with my coffee and cereal and seeing a bulging "inbox" full of emails and comments.
I love...making something from my heart and then hearing that others love it, too. So validating.
I love...being a sister to my four "little" sisters.
I love...packages from Pat. It's quite the adventure to dig through a package from you, full of pretty things! And when the kids call you "Aunt Pat." :)
I love...all the lovely friends I've made in this eBay/etsy/blogging/flickr community! I can't imagine not having you in my life, Pat!
I love...when my little Rachel, who is 3, says, "Mama, cuddle me."
I love...when all three of my kids and I find something goofy that just tickles us and we are all laughing (even the baby!). Such a wonderful feeling to watch it bubble up in everyone at the same time that it's bubbling up in me!
Well I'll stop there. Thank you for reminding us to be thankful, Pat. You are such a blessing to me!
