MORE ROD MCKUEN*STANYAN STREET AND OTHER SORROWS*COMFORT

Here is another poem by Rod McKuen for you....he is just sooooooo romantic. I love it!!
If we could do it all again...motor bike through roman cities in the rain....
watch the cats chase lizards in the forum
and drink bad wine from mouth to mouth....
I probably would try to love you harder than I did
I probably would smile a smile much better than the ones you knew
for I was just rehearsing then
imagining what easily might happen
in years to come
it is not just you I love
(or even roman rain)
or all the times you rattled on my window
after twelve o'clock.

I love the smell of rooms_
where you have been
the foreign touch of things I never knew
until you came along.

I even love your enemies
because they drive you into my arms
for comfort.

He is truly taken with her and captures with his pen all the feelings
flowing through his mind and heart. Just soooo WONDERFUL don't you think?
Love surely conquers all.

THE MAMA AND HER BABIES IN MY FRONT YARD

The doe kept leading her fawns back to our yard all afternoon...they must be sooooo hungry with all this snow....we did not frighten them away...they must survive too. They are back again as I am writing this. So DEEEEEER!

SOME ROMANCE*ROD MCKUEN*STANYAN STREET&OTHER SORROWS

If you are a "BABY BOOMER"...you will remember this poet/songwriter. His work his amazing and I love his poetry. If you are not a "BABY BOOMER...and love romance...this is for you. One of his poems follows called.... For S.C.

I do no know what is more beautiful than your tangled black hair on a white pillow.
I have thought about it all afternoon and decided not even butterflies or children or the blossoms in the hills above the beach can compare.

If I had money I would not buy a comb or a red ribbon to decorate it.

Instead I might charter worlds so you could walk in them and everyone could see your hair.

Imagine someone being so in love with you they could write poetry like this....heavenly!!!!

THE PINK AND WHITE VICTORIAN PLANT STAND

This is a rare and wonderful antique we found this summer and Casey made it so beautiful and just recently put it together for our family room. I am still putting the finishing touches on this room. I just need to paint up some pink and white flower pots and maybe add some roses also ...now I would love to plant lavender in the pots but I do not know how it would do inside. Any suggestions as to what I should plant? The room has plenty of sun...so that is not a concern. Any ideas are welcome...please leave a comment. Thank you for stoppin in.

SNEAK PEEK AT THE ULTIMATE JELLY BEAN JAR

Just between us girls this is a sneak peek of my ultimate jelly bean jar. Now you could use this jar in your sewing room or in the kitchen or in the bath but I picture it as a jelly bean jar. I also would like to store some wonderful rabbit cookies in it in the kitchen. I will only make one exactly like this one. This one has a chick on the top with a polka dot ribbon bow
around his neck. The image of the chick pulling the egg cart with the pink roses comes from my husband's collection of vintage post cards which he has had for 30 years. It is a rare one. You can find this jar on my Ebay auctions soon with all the details. Thank you for visiting my blog.

Here is our darling Anna.

Anna is helping her Dad with Ebay sales. He put her in charge of customer service and she has taken it over as you can see with great gusto.

GIRLS LOOK WHO FOUND THE NEW BUGGY.

I just knew when we purchased the buggy Tom would love it. Wait till the children see this. I think we will find Tom taking his cat naps here.

OOOOH Girls....look what we found today!!

Thrilled...yes girls that is the only way to describe how I feel about this vintage baby buggy. I saw one just like this in an ad and now I have one. I cannot wait to create all the linens for this darling. I can just picture our little Ariana and Anna strolling along with this sweet buggy with their favorite doll. OOOh what fun.

ODDS AND ENDS

Hello girls...here are a few things I whipped up today. The little bathroom set is in in the powder room off the kitchen that I redecorated some weeks ago. The tray I whipped up for us to use every day and the More Watership Down framed print is in my $9.99 auctions on Ebay which have no reserve.

This is pretty short as I am about worn out from all the decorating and the sale items I have been listing. A good nights sleep and I will be good to go tomorrow. Want to create some more Spring surprises for you. Easter eggs and an Easter wreath with vintage decorations.
Hoping to have another blog to showcase some great offerings.
Have a great night...and have fun whatever you do.

FINISHING TOUCHES FOR THE UPSTAIRS BATH

Here is the vintage mirror and new light fixture we installed today in the upstairs bath. I promised you a photo soooooo here you go!

THE JOY OF WORKING WITH VINTAGE FABRICS* MY NEW BATH

I have been planning this bath for a very long time. Saving up fabrics and getting everything together to complete this bath. I started by removing the old wall paper. Casey...was flipping out over that...but I went ahead in spite of his concerns. I prepared the walls ....with sanding and a primer and then painted all the walls a glorious ivory organdy. The shower curtain is formed from a 1930's southernbelle coverlet and I found the valance in an antique shop on Valentine's Day...it was a vintage bedspread. The commode fabric is from some vintage drapes...the vines look brown but they are actually green and the storage pouch on the back of the door was formed from a vintage tablecloth fabric. I started painting yesterday and I started sewing today at 4:30 AM. It has been a labor of love. The pretty little girl with the pink roses in her hair came from a handmade valentine from 1915 and the three little girls in the ornate gold frame I found at a flea market on Valentine's day. OOOh this has been SEW MUCH FUN GIRLS. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do my new bath. Just need to hang the antique mirror and put up the new light fixutre and it will be finished. I will show you those things when they are accomplished. Thank you for looking at my creations.
